Projection Mapping
A collaboration of light and imagery set in "Beppu," connecting the local community, tourism, and education
A spectacular projection mapping show projected onto the approximately 58-meter-long
outdoor wall of the all-weather amusement pool " Aquabeat."
This work was jointly produced by students and instructors from the Oita Prefectural College of Arts and Culture.
Centered on the themes of Hot Springs, and demon folklore, the show features three-dimensional visual expressions that make use of the building’s unique shape,
and is brought to life by the original character “Yugemaru.”
The show unfolds in two parts: × Culture” by the students and “Suginoi Cosmos” by the instructors (Sunnana Inc.).
Original music and visuals blend seamlessly throughout the entire performance, transforming Suginoi Hotel at night into a world of storytelling.
■Part 1: " × "
Based on the themes of Beppu’s Hot Springs, nature, and demon folklore, this is a projection mapping work jointly developed by the Suginoi Hotel and students.
.Guided by the original character “Yugemaru,” the story of how ogres transform into guardian beings is depicted in 3DCG,
intertwined with the building’s three-dimensional structure. The students also took on the challenge of voice acting, and their ingenuity—born from repeated trial and error in sound recording and visual expression—
has resulted in a work that warmly and joyfully conveys the region’s charm.

■Part 2: "Suginoi Cosmos"
Crossing rainbows, circling stars, and transcending the universe. The girl’s journey resonates with your own heart. The moments spent laughing with family and friends—
each and every one is a treasure that colors your life. A story that will leave a warm smile in your heart after you watch it is about to begin.
