Beppu Hot Springs boasts the largest number of hot springs and the largest amount of Hot Springs springs in Japan*, is dotted with representative Hot Springs called "Beppu Hachiyu.
Even within Beppu City, the types of Hot Springs gush forth vary from place to place, and a wide variety of Hot Springs have been used to heal people.
There are many attractive spots around the Beppu area, which has flourished as a Hot Springs tourist destination.

Beppu Ropeway
The ropeway, one of the largest ropeways in Kyushu with a capacity of 1, takes you to the top of Tsurumidake (1,375 meters above sea level) in Aso-Kujyu National Park in about 10 minutes.
The ropeway offers a panoramic view of the Beppu area, Mt. Yufudake, the Kujyu mountain range, the Chugoku region, and Shikoku Island.
